I come from an activist background, and I love nothing more than leveraging my skills and communications expertise to help you change the world. In addition to my communications, grant writing and fundraising/development experience, I bring my deep understanding of how systems of oppression operate, and how we can resist them, individually and collectively. I approach everything with a deep commitment to the ongoing work of demanding and crafting justice, of collectively building equitable systems that nurture people and communities. I write for you, but I also work in solidarity with you. I have practical knowledge of social justice, the stumbling blocks, challenges and battles facing activists, the inequitable distribution of power and resources, and the multi-faceted tactics, strategies and approaches we as activists use to fight and win. In other words, social justice-related communications is my wheelhouse, and I value the opportunity to support your work.

Revolution is inevitable, but in the meantime, I want to get you the money and resources you need to make your work possible. I'm experienced with federal, state and foundation grants, and offer a range of services from writing and/or managing a single grant submission to collaboratively developing a comprehensive funding plan. I can identify grant and other fundraising opportunities, plan donor campaigns and develop fundraising materials, and help you identify creative, individualized means of raising funds and building support.
Activists and non-profits are accountable to their communities, and this requires communication. I can help you identify who your stakeholders are, who you might be inadvertently leaving behind, and how to connect. I specialize in helping you understand and engage meaningfully with hard to reach populations and communities, and in creating unlikely collaborations. I see my role here as building bridges, but also helping both parties across the bridge to equitable, effective partnerships.
I offer tailored, comprehensive evaluation, including serving as an outside evaluator or conducting internal monitoring, with a strengths-based, justice oriented approach. With training and experience in evaluation science, I can help you identify metrics, objectives or appropriate evaluation tools, design monitoring plans, collect and analyze evaluation data, and write reports. Many grants require outside evaluation, but I view M&E as important opportunities for helping you grow and highlighting your strengths
As activists, we are adept at fighting the good fight, and communication is an important part of our toolboxes. I offer targeted communications support ranging from designing a social media campaign or marketing push to writing newsletters and blog posts and editing your finished report. My focus is telling your story, including crafting compelling narratives and policy briefs, providing developmental, content and copy edits, or writing website content and speeches. I love non-traditional approaches as well as the classics.
